I set up this website yesterday:
https://wherecanigetavaccine.com/
It’s a link to various sites by state with vaccine location availability information, and general vaccine information by state. In researching this, I found most states really don’t give enough info for people to find how they can get a vaccine.
There have been a few crowdsourced efforts, primarily I found the one in California, which is going and manually calling vaccine locations regularly and updating the data; this seems to be the one of the best state sources I have seen. It seems Texas has an official state map with this info, but otherwise many state vaccine websites don’t even say where you can get the vaccine! It’s crazy. In Illinois they have a vaccine home page, but it does not have information on where you can get them and if they are available. So people who even qualify are going on random websites trying to figure this out. The whole thing is a mess.
I’m excited about the crowdsourced efforts and think those can move more quickly than some of the state efforts, and hopefully help direct people in the right direction.
