Around mid-March 2020 we started quarantining due to coronavirus. It’s been a bizarre few months so far, in lots of ways.
One thing personally that has been a bit strange is thinking what I was doing a year ago and what I am doing a year later.
A year ago I was just starting to travel around the world for 4 months, through many countries, lots of planes and trains and all other types of transportation. Lots of people, lots of hostels, lots of germs all over the place. Basically whirling around the world and meeting tons of strangers in lots of places.
Fast forward to today and instead of hopping between places for four months, it looks like it’s going to be the opposite of that. It looks like we’ll be staying inside, in one place, quarantined for four months. Or more. But it’s just a bizarre thing to think about. It really was also almost a year to the day from the day my trip started to the day we started quarantining.
Right now it seems like that’s the last thing someone would do right now as people are careful to see anyone, even family or friends, wearing masks and washing your hands all the time.
I wonder when people will start doing big trips again. Also, lucky that I got this trip in when I did.
