It’s interesting to hear what other travelers think of the different countries they have visited. I’ve heard people give places positive and negative reviews for all sorts of reasons. But after a bit, it seems to me, what a person thinks of a country or city they visit says more about the person than it does about the city.
There is a fable it reminded me of, though I couldn’t place it–something where a king sends off two people to survey faraway lands and report back. Then they come back, and one man tells how the people there were so horrible and rude, and the other says the people in the place he met were so welcoming. It turns out it’s the same place. It’s kind of like that.
Also if people know the source of that fable or story … can you send me the link?
