Today we visited Culver High School and met with students at Trinity Lutheran!
Today was our last day of school visits on Karel’s Big USA Road Trip! We started off at Culver High School to visit some teachers and students that had been teaching and learning with CodeHS this past year.
It was great to meet them and hear about how it worked in their classes. One of the teachers, Paco, has taught computer programming for over a decade and CodeHS is a tool that helps him improve his classes. De is another teacher who has been using CodeHS and had great successes teaching to her students for the first time this year.
We got to speak with some of the students, and a few of them are really hoping to take off and do more programming as some summer projects!
We then continued on to Bend where we met with some teachers and students from Trinity Lutheran High School where they’ve used CodeHS to teach programming classes. They found that CodeHS had the flexibility to allow them to teach a class at their school, and several of the students we spoke to are now going on to college to study more programming!
Then we continued driving, back towards San Francisco.
