Today we visited Larsen Middle School in Elgin!
Today we started off with a visit to Larsen Middle School in Elgin, Illinois. We were invited to do a workshop to a middle school classroom that had done a bit of coding, but had not used CodeHS.
We got the students started off with some programming with Karel the Dog. The students were very excited, many exclaiming how fun this was (and also how much more they liked this than Codecademy!).
We also got to do a little bit of Q&A with the students about CodeHS, about applications of coding, as well as a little background on how we both got started doing programming.
Later in the day we drove over to Milwaukee for our school visits the next day!
