Today we had a great visit to Concord High School in Concord, New Hampshire!
Today, we got a chance to visit Concord High School, where they are using CodeHS to help teach their computer science classes. I had a great time at the visit here, and got a chance to speak with the teachers at the school, the students, as well as some of the adminstrators about how they are thinking about building out their coding program.
The way that they use CodeHS at Concord High School is a great example of the flexibility with which computer science teachers can use CodeHS in the classroom. There are two teachers who teach computer science classes, Justin and Joe. Joe has been an industry programmer and has been teaching coding for a while. Justin is a history teachers who has only started teaching coding this year. They both are able to lead great, engaging, and rigorous classes for their students with CodeHS.
Students have build their own games and animations, and this has generated a lot of interest in the school as they hope to add even more computer science classes!
We also got a great demo of some of the work that the robotics classes are doing.
Thanks to Justin and Joe and Concord High School for having us!
