Today we ran a bunch of workshops at Cardinal Gibbons High School!
Today was another busy day for CodeHS and Karel the Dog. We started in Raleigh, North Carolina, and went to Cardinal Gibbons High School. Jon Armfield at Cardinal Gibbons is using CodeHS to teach his programming class and is a huge fan.
He’s been working on developing the technology program at the school, and also teaches 3D modeling classes and engineering classes. He said the CodeHS program has been a great way for the school to teach computer science. The students have had a challenge but many are working on their final projects now — one student was building his own version of Karel in Javascript!
We got to run several workshops and discussions for the non-programming classes and get feedback and ideas from the programming class.
After the visits, we dropped of Susha who headed back to San Francisco, headed to Duke to have some meetings, and continued on to High Point for the next day’s workshops!
