Today we visited San Marino High School and La Canada High School!
Today we had a few different school visits. We got to visit a classroom that is using CodeHS at San Marino High School, as well as with administrators at La Canada High School.
In San Marino, there is a small introduction to computer science class. The class is very free form and the students work at their own pace. Students very actively help each other and look for extensions to programs. We spoke with the students about different applications for computer science and how their class is going so far. The school is looking to grow the computer science program in future years.
At La Canada, the school has some computer science classes and is looking for ways to continue to improve their classes. For them, CodeHS seems like a good choice to start with a accessible, fun, web-based solution to get more students to take these classes.
It was busy day in the LA area … and we’re getting ready for more visits tomorrow.
