Today was a day on the road. I needed to pick up a few things to improve my road trip setup (mainly aux cable for the music and a bluetooth headset for safe phone calls), and then I was on the road. Unfortunately this detour got me started a few hours late, and instead of an approximately four hour ride, this took more than six hours. Almost two hours or more in traffic getting out of LA. Woohoo!!
It was a really nice drive though. Wide open space, lots of hills, open roads. I got to Las Vegas around 9pm-ish, and the drive into Las Vegas is actually pretty cool. Coming from LA, I had been driving in the desert for many hours and in the distance, you just see a lot of lights. All cities are known for their lights, but this is different. These lights are flashing, and you see spotlights, and an excessive number of video-digital-billboards as you pass the downtown area. After a tiring travel day, dinner at the BK Lounge.
